Painting Cordura

Can anyone suggest a good brand/type of paint for painting cordura? I'm looking to camo a boat blind similar to what you see on a Bankes or Duckwater blind. Please feel free to post pictures of your work, if any!

Thanks

Mike

OVT Solid Color Oil Stain
650892 Desert Sand
650660 Black

These are the original numbers I received from Dean Clark one of the original owners of TDB. Hank

I just painted my dodger for my BBSB. Its not cordura it is canvas with a pvc backing. I used the same duck boat paint I used to paint the boat. I used parkers marsh grass. I think any flat oil base paint would work. Parkers is just what I had on hand. I used a stiff brush to push it into the fabric. It makes the fabric a little stiff but its better to protect it and I think it will make it even more water proof. It worked well I am very happy with it. Here are a few pictures. Hope this helps. Talk to Lou from lock stock he has all kinds of colors of his FME I am sure you can find what you are looking for and he can help. He is a super nice guy willing to help.

I'd look into what Hank said if I was you. I painted cordura last year and when it dried I had 80 grit sandpaper. It went from soft flexible fabric to starched stiff sandpaper. I was okay with the sheet good stiffness but the abrasiveness was going to cause problems wherever there was contact with other things like fiberglass and plywood. I ended up redoing the job and tossed the painted stuff. From what others say it works fine on canvas, but I'm suspect of cordura. It might have been the fact the cordura I painted was old and faded with loose fibers that became grit when paint hardened, but before you paint a lot of cordura and spend the time and money I'd at least like to point out the difficulty I ran into.
