Please post pics of you favorite Canvasback decoy. It can be one that you made, one that someone else made or even factory.

Here are two of my favorites:

I can't say I could possibly narrow it down to tow, but I can saw that at least one would be a Schmidt and even just choosing one Schmidt can would be almost impossible for me. I do think you made some fine choices.

My all time favorites from Cameron...

Being born and raised in Minnesota, I'm going to have to go with the Delta Cans that James Ford Bell had made for him back in the day. Most were made by the Ducharme family I believe.

A more modern choice would be Don Mintz. He is the man when it comes to foamers!

Derek,

I saw those Delta Marsh cans In the Minnesota Duck Decoy book and fell
in love with them. I am right now making a rig to hunt over for next season.
They have a real neat story on how Bell ended up in Manitoba and met the
Ducharmes in the book.
I think all the Cans posted are really great looking birds in there own way.
A really neat thread.

Those delta marsh birds are very cool. I can remember an odd posed can that Mr. Vine carved that was excellent. Craig's rig is one of my favorite rigs.

Here is one of my favorite birds I carved my take on a 36 Ward. Don't know why I don't make more.

Mr furia always great to see your work. Hope to see a lot more in 2012.

Now this one is difficult for me as we don't hunt them here as don't have any but I have had a good look through my books this morning and come up with 2 groups
Vintage: ward bros, daniel English, Thomas fitzpatric, Charles Allen

Modern: Masers Sutton, muller, vine

Just a thought, happy newyear to you all.
