Now that the frame is welded and painted, it is time to make up a new wire harness.
All the connections are crimped, followed with silicone sealer and then heat shrinked on top of that. No worries about corrosion for some time to come.
The wires run up the center of the guide post and are pigtailed out to the top marker light and to the the rear tail/ brake and turn light. The aluminum channel is a sub base for the tail light to mount to.
End result is tail lights which are DOT approved and won't have to be unplugged each time the trailer gets backed into the water. Plus I'll better be able to see the trailer when backing up.
