Grassing sneakbox

I'm posting on my buddies account I have a gus henriches jr sneabox wandering how you guys would grass up the back section of the boat what type of netting do you use to hook the grass to
 
Depending on the area you hunt in should dictate what use . Here in Virginia the area I hunt in (cypress swamp) I just cover my sneak box with camo netting.
 
Colin, I put a short grass rail on each side of the back of the box, lay the grass across and secure it down with the grass rails. Stays on until you take it off.

Here is my BBSB that I grassed for this season. I only got the first half done as the tide was coming in fast on where I was cutting grass. I have to regrass the whole boat cuz I lost most of the grass to the storm.

I like the grass on your decoy racks only thing I would do is try to cover the inside of the racks too.

Keep it simple. Get a piece of fast grass. Cut it to fit around the motor and decoy racks and hunt on. People get too wrapped around this stuff. These are birds with brains the size of a BB. You can out smart them!

Colin, I use eyestraps on my deck and then tie either a medium cord, like the tarred decoy line, or bulk bungee, and string it out in lengths up and down and around the cockpit, the just weave the grass in (salt hay). this works pretty good. Here is what an eyestrap looks like:

I have about 30 of these all around. I sometimes take last spring's fountain grass cuttings and make bundles and tie them to the edge of the boat, I have done it in this picture and am just starting to fill in with the salt hay:

Actually, my daughter is starting to fill it in with salt hay. I have several eyestraps around the top outer edge of the cockpit with a line strung around that, and then put the hay sticking up there and pushed under the hay that is on the deck, it stays pretty good if you aren't traveling too far. I have about a 2 mile one way trip to the ramp that I use, and it holds up pretty good. As it thins out from use or some blows off, you just stuff a little more in there underneath the lines you have strung with the eyestraps. Works pretty good, is easy, and you won't have a boot get caught in it, which is why I don't like raffia-it's too strong.

Salt Hay on the decoy racks, fast grass on the canvas, and a little spartina sprinkled in. Depending on how beat up it gets the salt hay lasts me two seasons, I regrassed the decoy racks this year. Fast grass, especially some that has darkened with age, works pretty well in a pinch.
