It was a beautiful afternoon on the river today. 60+ degrees air temp with a light SE breeze. The water has warmed to 42 degrees and the fish are getting active.

These two hit the tape @ 26 and 30 inches.

The best tasting fish in fresh water IMHO. And the perfect size to keep.

My nephew found some open water in southetn MN and caught walleyes, Perch and a pike. I looked a little around here but couldn't find much open yet. Too much ice and not enough runoff I guess.

Deuce did point a rooster yesterday so it wasn't a wasted weekend. He also got a bath...recently uncovered putrefied deer carcass must be like perfume to a dog.

Were you fishing out of your Huff?

Bill,
Yes sir, it makes for a nice "small river" boat. I have a two stoke 15hp Yamaha on it and it runs right at 21.5 MPH wide open. I feel safe on much bigger waters, but the Huff is well suited for snaking up and down small winding rivers.

I run a vintage 9.5 Johnson on my Huff, don't know the speed but it planes quickly and is plenty fast enough for me.
It didn't get much use last season due to high river water, maybe this year.
