My summer project-building a modified Black Brant III- UPDATED

Awesome looking build. I love reading these threads and learning more about build aspects. I'll take the plunge on a large build one day. The discussion about the battery and gas falls into my past custom mud/duck boat design experience, and I'd recommend FOR a gas tank, filler access, gauge...

    Mice!

I discovered something similar by accident several years ago. I had a large folgers coffee can that I had collected some used motor oil in (about 2"), and I left it out by my boat. We had a small rain storm that added another 2-3" of water to the oil, before I set it in the corner of my garage...

    CeeBee Duck Boat

That's more like a duckhunter thought process. LOL I look at almost every boat I see with a thought towards 'could that be a duck boat?'. LOL

    CeeBee Duck Boat

Actually, it looks of a type that I've had in mind for a project/conversion for some time. I'm constantly seeing a new twist or getting a new idea. Any more pics or information? What size motor is on it? Thanks.

    Hunter Safety course requirements

I took it in Alabama, back around 1984, for deer hunting in Georgia. I lost the card over the years, and the state lost all the records...seems the instructor kept them and had passed. Anyhoo, I had to take it again, so I could hunt Mississippi and Arkansas, etc....even after running rages...

I'm looking at getting my wife and I GPS's for Christmas..

Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance, Trimble, etc. all started in a GPS niche OTHER than the auot nav market. Garmin and Magellan are great for handhelds. Lowrance is excellent for marine. Trimble makes great survey/commercial application stuff. None of them view the auto navigation market as...

I hope Jeff Foiles isn't in the habit of

New Foiles Call: FMH: Fresh Meat Honkey. Geeze! ...but Ted is correct about the outdoor industry/working in it....I dabbled in it for a few years, and it turned my hobby into misery sometimes, and kept me in a constant battle to keep someone else from making me a liar....some of it...

    good gun

If you keep an eye out, you might find a good deal on a Franchi 620/720 in 20ga, and they're almost as light as their 48AL, but are a pretty good gas design. My 85#, 10yr old swats dove all day long with his, with no recoil complaints.

Simply the best gloves for setting decoys in frigid temps

I found some at a closeout store down here and bought them years back...never knew what they were until now, but my set came with a left hand mit, and a right hand glove.

Surface drive on a TDB 14????

Actually, the weeds are no more of an issue with the surface drives I've run/sold than with any longtail.....it's what we run in all the time, millfoil, hydrilla, hyacinth, etc.....I've never had one 'lock up', though anytime you play in enough trash, you'll collect some....but by and large, you...

Surface drive on a TDB 14????

yep, your hull, Phil. The stuff a transom is subjected to with a surface drive mudmotor are much more than what an outboard normally does (IMO), that any 'extension' type of mount gives some added leverage to the forces applied.. I'm not saying that the good looking work you've done wouldn't...
