    Opinions of self-blueing gun products

I have an A-5 that has seen hard use since my dad bought it in 1958. The current barrel has lost some of it's blueing near the end of the barrel and near the forearm grip where the barrel slides. What are the opinions of a good self blueing kit? I am not going to send or take the gun to have it...

    Pumping water out of pit

I do not have a picture so I will do my best to describe it. You can take ABS sch 35 pipe (lighter than Sch 40PVC) and cut a section 1 ft taller than the bottom of your pit. Use a T connection and come another 4 ft or so up past the T and a section of pipe (you're call on that length) out the...

    Sandhill crane in NC?

Definitely a small population in NJ. 5 maybe 6 six years ago we saw one small flock. Now there are at least 30 that show up in the area I hunt.

    Odd sight this morning

We have a population now here in NJ. Started with about 6 or so for a few years and now it is about 25. At least three different family groups I am guessing. Spoke with a biologist and they were re-introduced here. Great sight to see!!

    North Dakota???

Thanks for all the sound advice. I spoke with Todd and he seems like a down to earth kind of guy. Going to meet him at the Harrisburg show. I think we are going with him.

    North Dakota???

Thanks Kirk!! Just the info I was looking for. Both of us are turning 55 and want to do a trip. You gave me sound advice, especially going with the guides to scout. Probably would have never thought of that. We are both duck hunters....lol and don't get me wrong, we love to eat, but we are out...

    North Dakota???

My hunting buddy and I are planning on making the trip out to North Dakota in two years. We are going to fly and are starting the research for the trip. Neither of us have gone afar to hunt ducks/geese. We are primarily interested in guided field hunts over grain. Being our first trip we figure...

    Common Mergs

I do not where you are located, and with this cold snap, the spot I am thinking of is totally iced up and not accessible. But the Delaware River is a major flyway for them. During the last few weeks we saw hundreds of them in flocks from 5 to 100 travelling down river. They decoy some what well...

    New Motor weight question

Jmac, that is a nice offer, and I think I might take you up on that after the holidays. I have a lot going on....trying to find some ducks with a predicted 60 degree day on Saturday with a light SSE wind. Oh yeah and Christmas.

    New Motor weight question

That's what I was initially thinking. Thanks Phil for talking in from the ledge. And you are right on both counts. I ran a 9.9 for a while and always worried about a following sea. Just didn't have the power. That motor wouldn't push the boat past 6 kts. And as I said before, I have never...

    New Motor weight question

The merc was the lightest one I looked at....121 pounds. The builder is unknown, but the boat is old. When I got it she was still rigged as a sailing model. Barn find. The transom is 8 X 39 give or take. And yes.....the transom goes under with me on the back getting decoy line out of the prop...

    New Motor weight question

I have a glass over cedar sneak box. Length is 11'9", with is right around 63". I currently run a 1979 Johnson 15hp which is about 75 lbs give or take. That motor has given many a year of good service. I have been thinking about getting a new motor. Honda or a Merc, 15hp and both are in the...

Anybody have to carry an eppy pen? Life changing event

Glad it turned out ok for you. A friend of mine has a known severe allergy to bees. Never had a epipen despite all our urging. Finally got him as he got stung while home alone. Thank god for the pop in visit. Another buddy just happened to be driving by and stopped to say hello. Found him...
