Timken bearings are still made in USA..... and reasonably priced as far as I recall.
Never had to replace many, always been fussy about lubrication, and maintenance.
My first thought when I saw that picture was "sail clip"....
Would this work for you?

Used inline with an elastic, or thin bungee cord and some spring buttons for adjustment.
You did good! And your inspection procedure sounded spot on.... I had a '90 model year 17footer for about 10 years before I sold it. The main thing I see missing is your grass rail... the rails then were made of wood, so I wouldn't expect them to still be on it anyhow. It appears you are missing...
In my opinion, for your very first handgun purchase - especially since it is something new to you... I would suggest buying from a local dealer.
Hopefully someone you are familiar with, and who you are comfortable with. You will have questions... maybe want accessories.... you will want to have...
Left the bottom unsnapped, used the pipe sockets to hang the canvas, and the snap buckles on each side to keep it in place.
If I recall correctly, the outer most deck snaps could still be used....
I bought one of the very first tdbs' sold... in 1984, or 85.
Gunned out of it for well over 30...
Our dogs always stayed on the platform in the open... no need to hide them, but then again - chessies have colors called "sedge" and "deadgrass" for a reason.
The platform was painted and treated with sand to make it sure footed.... carpet gets heavy and eventually rots the wood.
It was cut...
shelf lighting is a big plus...
I also installed spring clips on the face of the stern bulkhead to stow my blind supports in.... kept them from getting "lost" on the floor, or taking up space on the shelf.
A net hung from under the bow deck and tied into the grass rail of the dog shelf kept...
It'll work just fine underway and even when setting and picking up... did it for many years myself.
The more you hunt any boat - the more "tricks" for rigging and stowing that you can work into your routine - the better.
