    Duckboats.net Guest Appearance

The one point that both you and Ramsey eloquently conveyed was how much information is available on forums like this by using the search functions vs. the black hole of other types of social media. If I'm researching something DIY most of the best information comes from forums, then probably...

    ISO: Waterfowl Sweater

I count wearing mine in the snow as washing it... The blood stains add character each season.

The best, my go to cold weather sweater. Hopefully someone has one in their closet.

Hunting in the age of social media

I tend to get a bit unresponsive when people want advice on killing pintails ;)

Hunting in the age of social media

That's the way to do it. I get a ton of DMs on instagram from folks all over the country looking to come to NJ to hunt black ducks and while obviously not giving everything away I always try to be friendly and helpful. There's still a lot of good to come out of the internet at times.

    Sneakboat Dilemma

Noah, while we already discussed this a bit on instagram it is a question that seems to come up a lot these days. Unfortunately there's no perfect boat that will hide in our low salt hay marshes and still have enough room to hunt two grown adults and a dog. Out of the boats previously...

    Interesting Gadwall

We're very spoiled here with our black duck population. In a warmer season like the one we're experiencing they definitely are our most reliable puddle duck.

    Interesting Gadwall

It should be white on the leading edge of the speculum to designate "hybrid" as far as the law is concerned right?, but even that is subject to the CO's interpretation. I only count birds as hybrids if they're very obviously a hybrid. You definitely see green in a lot of older, mature drake...

    Interesting Gadwall

That's what I'm wondering if it's an age thing. Definitely a large bodied, healthy bird. A lot of times you'll get the more immature gaddies that definitely aren't as pronounced with the wing patches, head shape, pure black bill, etc. and they seem to be smaller. I haven't shot a lot of...

    Interesting Gadwall

Thanks for the replies, I wanted to get some feedback from those of you like Eric and Carl who I know shoot a lot of gaddies. Confirmed my suspicions that it was something unique.

    Interesting Gadwall

I've shot a fair amount of gadwall over the years, but this particular drake from the other day stood out a bit. It has a very distinct black ring on its neck. Some googling showed that it seems to be a semi-uncommon color variation. I can't seem to remember shooting one similar in the past...

Which pattern would you rather hunt with?

I've been shooting 20 gauge Boss #4s through my Benelli M2 20 for going on three and a half seasons now. I'm probably doing it wrong based on what you read on the internet but I shoot improved cylinder. Looking at my log book I've killed just over 550 ducks and geese with that combo. In my...

Question on a David Clark boat

All the cool boats, black ducks, less decoys, except this season we could use some colder weather!
