Dean WinningJust getting ready for duck season here in the Chesapeake Bay area and thought I’d share some pics of my (six hour canoe). I’ve been a canoe person all my life. Used em for hunting, fishing, whitewater river running and camping. Just throw em on top of the car and off you go. This one is a cheapie built for about $100. It’s made from 2 sheets of 1/4" plywood. A 2x4 cut into strips. An oak stair tread for the nose. A box of drywall screws. Some scrap pine board. $20 worth of fiberglass tape. $15 for a gallon of polyester resin. A $6 seat from Wal-Mart. $20 for six cans of Krylon Camo paint. It’s 13’ feet long, 33" inches across, weighs about 65 lb. with the seats, has 12" inch straight sides and the seats come out and go into the trunk of the car so the boat can lay flat on the roof. Although the boat looks small, it paddles well and can take a small trolling motor off the back. Anything that handles my 6’1", 250 frame without tossing me in the drink is okay by me! The web sites great. Keep up the great work and Happy Hunting! Dean |
