Tom Jes Pictures Page 2

Thanks to Eric and this page, I was able to use his idea for rigging a blind for this boat. It works out real good when I have to go chasing the occasional cripple, just drop the back posts and it's off to get the bird with a minimum of effort needed.

This is my marsh boat again using Eric's Jon Boat design. I had tried to use a full conduit frame but it was more trouble than it was worth. At least with this design, I can unhook the bungy cords, drop the back two posts, and with kayak paddles, can retrieve downed birds with ease. The kayak paddles also let me move along at a pretty good clip and see where I am going. instead of having to look over my shoulder when using oars.

This is a close-up of the method used for mounting the poles. I use 4 inch lengths of 3/4 inch conduit used with 3/4 inch conduit straps. I then use 1/2 inch conduit cut to 24 inches for the poles. I used 1/4 ski rope for my lines and the poles are drilled at the top. This allows one side to be taken down and rolled up in a nice neat package. I'm not worried about the yellow as it is covered by my camo netting. Large snap swivels are used to clip to the front handle.
