I have been an avid duck hunter all of my life, in large part thanks to my Dad for taking me out with him pretty much since I could walk. After years of hunting like everyone else, I decided I wanted to make the hunt more of an intimate experience which lead me to build my first boat(the popular KARA). I have also started the decoy thing as time permits.
The most important development in my hunting life also came this last year when I acquired my first duck dog "Bottle Lake's Pride Lil Emma" a deadgrass chessie. Hunting with a dog is everything everyone tells you it is and so much more. They truly are amazing animals, and are the reason I have chosen the career path I have, I'm currently in my third year of veterinary school at Iowa Sate University.
Most of my hunting is done in northwest Iowa where I was born and raised, but due to the restraints of school I have been hunting central Iowa a great deal more.
