Hi all, I've been duck'in since I shot my first greenhead in 1960 at the ripe old age of 11 with my dad's hump back Browning over dekes (and calls) that my grandfather made. Can't say I have been hunting every year because I passed on a few seasons, some due to USN duty in WestPac, others because of too few birds and a family. I have had the pleasure to have had two Chessies as hunting partners in that time span. I have made a few cork decoys years ago and am starting to get back into carving again. I am thinking about building a Devlin Brant or Scaup but haven't made up my mind yet. Though I hunt locally quite a bit, my favorite area is the Mississippi River. I would like to get into layout hunting on the few areas that it is allowed in Wisconsin but at this time don't have a layout boat or enough diver dekes (I do have a tender and a 14' jon boat).
