I'm a 38 year old duck hunter who lives, eats, drinks, breathes, and sleeps to hunt mallards in flooded timber. Wings whistling down through the tree tops is the most beautiful site in the world. Don't want to step on any tows but if it doesn't have a greenhead I don't shoot. Except if it's a black, then I unload! Been hunting as long as I can remember. My dad taught me to hunt Mallards in the timber when I was just barely old enough to carry his Stevens model 311 16 gauge. People think Phil Robertson is one heck of a hunter. Well let me tell you, he couldn't hold a candle to pops. Everyone around here knows dad was the real decoy. Besides hunting green timber I don't do much else. Hunted the rice fields a few times but don't really care for it too much since you have to put up with all the other ducks. I have a new Black Lab I'm training named Bo. He's coming along good and might even be another Roscoe. Roscoe was my best lab ever but I lost him to a snake bite. I guess if thers one thing I want to share it's what I learned from dad. Always shoot close and shoot straight, don't leave cripples and don't let them out of the hole. MM
