Began duck hunting at about age 10 in Arkansas with my grandfather. Go back at least once each season with my father and now my son. Now live on the Georgia coast and hunt mostly salt marshes of the Altamaha river delta or cypress and tupelo swamps upriver. Started carving decoys in about 1986 and carve mostly blacks, mallards or teal. I use tupelo, basswood and some cork. Have also built a 14' Broadbill and several 10' to 12' foot paddle boats.
