I started duck hunting 30 years ago on the potholes of northwestern Minnesota. Four years ago I moved to La Crosse and started duck hunting more seriously (my wife would say obsessively) on the backwaters of the Mississippi River. I do most of my early season hunting out of a 13 foot wooden kayak. In late season I use a 14' aluminum johnboat with a mud motor. My two boys are just getting to hunting age, so I'll be building a boat that can carry three hunters and a dog soon.
