2025 deer

Congratulations on a fine buck. Bow season has been unsuccessful so far but next Friday is firearm deer season. I'm hopeful.

Chip,

That's a dandy buck right there. Congratulations. Tenderloin time YUM YUM.

Our deer gun season began yesterday mabbee snow tomorrow. Fun Time is Here....

Best regards
Vince

Congrats that’s a beautiful buck! So far I’ve been fortunate enough to take a doe and a 10 point with my bow and an old 6 point with the gun. Few more doe tags to fill and the freezer will be packed for the year.

Well done!
Awesome deer everyone! Congratulations, looks like many of you are having a great season.

I tagged my first 10 pointer ever in New Jersey here. With my bow.

I've had a little bit of luck on the Eastern shore. Shot a couple nice stags. One with the bow one with the muzzleloader.

Hopefully I can finish the trifecta off in another couple weeks with the rifle.

Our season ended weeks ago here on the west coast. We hunt Blacktail almost exclusively... which are a pint sized variety of Mule deer. I got a nice buck on opening day, but my son got a nicer one with his muzzle loader late in the season. Video links to his blackpowder buck here:

First deer I have ever taken off my duck property which I have owned for 20 yrs. Really never truly deer hunted it until this Saturday and obviously had some success. The last pic is a trail cam pic of this buck from 8 days earlier from my 30 acre deer property which lies over 1 1/2 miles away as the duck flies. That 30 acres is part of over 900 acres of wooded swampy river bottom ground.

Big bucks are smart, that one probably spent every fall hanging out on your property once deer season opened! One hell of a buck by any ones standards

Rifle season on the eastern shore was pretty quiet overall. I managed to put a nice shot on this decent stag.

The 257. Bob is my new favorite sika Caliber.

That's great Jode. Cool looking animal. I've been hearing about those little DelMarVa deer for some time, are they on public land or is it all preserve? I don't have a 257, but my most favorite deer rifle is a 7x57 Remington Mountain Rifle that was my dads. Who's your daddy, 257? ;)

Very nice Sika! I hope to hunt them in Japan after retirement, just gotta navigate their gun laws which is not easy.
I shot a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser for years, similar to the 257 R., gotta love the flat trajectory of long thin bullets. If I ever get back in to deer hunting here again, I'd invest in a 7mm-08 or 257 R.

From what I understand Sika are escaped game animals and are pretty common in Eastern shore Maryland. I have seen them on Assateague Island.
