After the interior paint dried, I removed the masking tape. Using 1/4 ply I fit the stern and bow pieces. I scribed the exterior and the layout of the ribs on the underside. I then marked the screw spacing and drilled pilot holes. I find this a better way then trying to locate the center line of the ribs. Starting at the stern I installed that piece first. I gave the interior a coat of epoxy to seal the wood and to attach the top. I also coated the top of the ribs to prevent glue starvation. Plans call for 3/4" screws on 6" centers on ribs and 2" spacing on the edge. Holes were drilled and countersunk. After stern was dried I installed the bow and then the side pieces. I rough cut the side pieces and then worked from the bow to stern. I used a block plane to plane the side piece for final fitting to the stern.
After epoxy had dried I then used a hand plane and block plane to plane off the edges of the deck to match the bevel of the side planking. The mast hole and centerboard slot where cut open and I rounded the edges for the fiberglass with a router and a 1/4" round over bit.
Next step is to fill the screw holes with faring compound ahead of fiber glassing the boat.
