The Madoc duckboat is a bit of a mystery but grabs the attention of duckboat aficionados. Below is information @ChadW compiled. In addition to being made by Madoc Inc. the boat also appeared in the Old Guide Catalog and where it was called the Old Guide Duck Boat and reported to be built by Golden Era Boats based in Noank, Connecticut and in business from 1976 to 1997.

Designed by Herreshoff, L. Francis and produced in Marblehead MA. It was one of a very small number of fiberglass models he designed. L. Francis referred to fiberglass as “frozen snot.” One Madoc owner I reached out said that Herreshoff had to be persuaded by an employee to produce the Madoc in fiberglass.
The Madoc was produced by Herreshoff in the early to late 60s. Approx 200 were made. The three examples I'm aware of are all 1965 year models. Mystic Seaport reports having plans and they are dated 1960-1967, however I have no way of knowing if those are actual production years.
I believe this hull was produced by at least one other maker, as evidenced by the Old Guide Duckboat, produced by Golden Era Boats, flyer.
There were at least two models of the Madoc produced. The H Model is the standard boat and most produced. It has a 15" transom for a short shaft outboard motor or can be powered by oars.
The second version that I'm aware of is the S Model. The S Model shares the same features as the H model, with the addition of a mast, sail and daggerboard. The S Model is rare, as not many were produced compared to the H Model.
Permission was obtained from all three owners for sharing these pictures.
H Model owned by Thomas Riley
H Model owned by Jonathan Detwiler
M Model owned by Donald Oakes
