Eider Sleds?! How are they used?

I have not used sleds but over the last 25 years I have seen a number of people here on the DHBP demonstrate building and floating them. What I have seen is that the nested sleds are all connected. You attach an anchor line (with a bouy to break the current) to the first one and the rest simply...

Advice for attaching Skeg to Hull.

I'm definitely not an expert on boat building, but a backer inside the hull, like mentioned above by SJ, immediately came to my mind as well. Or at least using pan head screws with a large washer. Would love to see some photos of the rest of the hull too! Looks like a cool rehab project.

    Trailer failure… clean snap

I thought i was going crazy the first time I saw mine float up. A buddy of mine didn't believe it until he saw it. Luckily the ramps with the worst current had courtesy docks on either side and I knew to put the trailer really close on one side of the other depending on if the tide was rising or...

    Sevierville, TN

The streams on the Cherokee reservation are stocked weekly, with a pile of trout. Nice size too, not dinks. And cheap: $10/day for a license with a 10 fish limit. Lots of videos on Youtube.

    Trailer failure… clean snap

Ouch! My old 20' CC was on an aluminum trailer, but was a bolted, not welded, trailer. Really frustrating when I needed to back way down on particular ramps and the trailer would float!

    Canoe racks?

I’ve watched a couple of documentaries on the decline of moose populations along the southern end of their range. Seems to be mainly due to the tick issue you mentioned. As climate warms, we’re seeing similar issues with other species, doesn’t bode well for many as their southern limits get...

Very Interesting Documentary on Louisiana Coastal Habitat Loss

Neat film. Not sure I have met Todd but I've worked with a good number the LCPRA staff over the years. They have a great group of people over there who take their jobs very seriously.

Very Interesting Documentary on Louisiana Coastal Habitat Loss

Through my work in coastal zone management, as a founding member of the Gulf of Mexico Alliance, and now in the private environmental and engineering sector, I have been involved with this issue since the late 90's. I am actually working as a senior ecologist on a large project over there now...
