    Honker progress...

The plan is to go new. Quality is more important than price. After looking at the Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda, the Yamaha 70 hp comes in as the lightest of all by 90 pounds. Waiting on prices from the dealers. The Honker is rated for 70hp. I made the Honker 19' which is a foot longer than...

    Honker progress...

When it a 100 degrees out any moving air helps. speaking of propulsion, what is everyones opinion on outboards? I am leaning toward Yamaha 70 or 75 and the Honda 75. The Yamaha 70 is suppose to be a lighter outboard.

    Scarfing question #2

This is not a scarf it is more of a butt joint, it is epoxied filleted then covered with 3 layers of fiberglass and epoxy. Runs the length of the boat. [/URL]

    Scarfing question #2

According to what i have read the scarf joint is stronger than the actual wood its self. What are you planning on building?

    Scarfing

How thick is your material ? When I did 1/2" ply at a 1" to 8" ratio it was 4" long per 4X8 board. So when you glue 2 4X8 boards together you lose 4" of length per joint.

Thanks, Wired it up. Put the bulkheads in and held them in place with screws. Then tabbed the whole thing with epoxy /wood flour took out the bulkheads and filleted and taped it up. Then put back the bulkheads, had to round the corners to get them to fit, filleted and taped them in...
