know Bud Evans or Ivan Kurch? I met Ivan through my grandparents. He lives in their retirement community and wanted to see some real ducks so I took him some frozen birds to look at and he especially wanted to look at the chilean wigeon that Blake mounted because he is interested in carving a chilean. We got to talking about carving and he showed me his carvings (beautiful pieces of work. His first 'gunning' decoy he ever carved took first place at a show) and I showed him my bufflehead in progress. Incidentally he is also working on a bufflehead. Anyway, Ivan told me to get a hold of Bud because there is a Jax woodcarving club up here that he is Pres of. I went to my first meeting tonight. That was a lot of fun, even though Bud wasn't there tonight. I'll be going back, so hopefully I'll be improving quite a bit in my decoys. I was just curious if any of y'all had met either of the two gentlemen at any shows or what not.
