slower day at the office so I thought that I might as well post up come northern pics as well..

Not the greatest pic, but it had been a while since I had seen a moose. This was a group of young bachelors- they all had real small horns. Spikes, I guess.

Good mixed bag day. The GHG's did good in the wind. I shot a banded pintail on this hunt- first banded duck in a few years for me.

Had some really great hunts out of the boats! Fun mixed bag shooting consisting of just about everything you can imagine.

Fun PM mallard shoot on a slough off of a bigger lake. Miss Maysie was worn plumb worn out.

Took my buddy's dodge up there. He had a boat rack built like my truck does. This pic is after the first mornings hunt and shows a couple of the boats already loaded back up onto the rack.

Here is a dim pic of the rig we took. Goose rig in the enclosed and boats on the truck rack. Worked out pretty slick and gave us lots of options.

Did get a first for me one afternoon. Shot a crane in a manure field!

Lots of work and a long drive, but it sure was fun....

Awesome pics! I'm glad to see some folks can hold off posting their pictures until after season because it makes for a good off season. What kind of boats are those pictured? Did you build yourselves or buy from a large manufacturer or small-time boat builder? Do you paddle, pushpole, or wade to your locations?

a boat made by the company that Ira owns...MoMarsh.....go to the website.... www.momarsh.com , for more pictures of the boat in action as well as spec's....

Boats can be paddled, powered or poled...

Josh, that is the original "Big Gun Bob" from the west side. Good buddy of mine....

Good times Ira! Those prairie moose are a peculiar lot. They live in those little patches of scrub and popple. You'd think they'd be able to live just about anywhere when you see how confined they are to their preferred habitat up there. I guess they just don't like people and highways. Come to think of it...I'm a lot like a moose!

Besides my buddy Jimmy and myself, you are the only guy I know of that has all of his post hunt photos taken with the face mask pulled up. My problem is, half the time I forget to take it off OR pull it up!
