I had a very enjoyable morning today. The temps dropped to a more seasonable range which reduced the flying and biting bugs. It seemed the ducks were a bit more active as well. Started off by collecting a Green Wing teal from a group that buzzed the decoys.
Then a bit later, a group of Gadwall showed up and I surprised myself by getting a double, one with each barrel.
And last, a lone goose came straight into the decoys.
All said and done, they will make for some delicious meals.
Tomorrow (Oct. 6th) is the last day to hunt, before the closed split in our season for duck. The season will reopen on Oct. 14th for the zone in which I hunt.
