I had remembered to load the chamber,,,,,,, DUH.

Ever have one of those moments? I usually go out with two guns in the boat, one loaded for duck and one loaded for geese. I managed to load the duck gun. On to gun two, slipped three spare shells into the elastic shell holder stock pad, but never loaded three shells into the gun itself.

Later on four geese make a swing directly overhead. I pull up and take a bead on the one one the left,,,,,, pull the trigger and, click,,,,just click. Yep, he would have been stone dead but my oversight just made his day!

I truly believe this is a first for me, I hope it is not the first of more to come. :>) :>)

Maybe it's time to be put in a senior home. I found out how they determine if you are ready.......I talked with a director of a nearby home and he said they give a simple test where they fill a bathtub with water and give the person a thimble, a spoon, and a 5 gallon bucket and tell them to empty the tub. I told him, "Oh, I get it....if they use the bucket they are NOT senile." He said, "NO......we expect them to pull the plug.......do you want a room with a window or close to the cafeteria?" Hahahahahahahahahah dc

Well Dave,.... of the first two things to go when you are getting old. The second is memory. If you will wait a minute......I'll remember the first.......

Pulling the trigger on an empty chamber usually happens after you leave your gun in the blind while you go and pee. If you had a partner who started laughing at least you'd could point the blame.

Just wondering what shot size do you shoot for ducks and for geese? I shoot 2's for both and have been very pleased since shelfing the BB

Hehe...Hey Dave at least you remembered your gun. Didn't I read recently one of our members running home while hoping his boat would still be tied up at the dock when he returned.....sorry Mark, couldn't help myself!

Take care,

Ahhh, the whimsical moments of one gaining "senior" status. Loved it, Dave. Those times are the ones we normally never forget. It's at a time like this where we chuckle softly to ourselves and say, "Sh#t" at the same time.
"And the what ifs strike again!"
