using the basic editor puts the cursor below the quoted text rather than in the quoted text as the advanced editor does. At least for me. I've noticed a number of innovative bolding and such to make the response distinct from the quoted text, but a switch to basic editor works and puts the cursor below the quote parse. You can make the change under display settings to use the basic editor all the time.

You don't have to use the basic editor. While in the Markup window if you hover your curser over the icons in the panel above, next to RE: it is called "QUOTE". Click on that and your curser moves down to another line so you can type your response under the Quote line. At least it works for me.
