Jason Truck Caps? Elkhart, IN

As you already know I am accessorizing my new Silverado. My last 2 caps have been ARE. The first bought 20 years ago was perfect, so 10 years ago, I did not shop just called the local ARE dealer and ordered it. I was disappointed in the quality change over the 10 years, the edges were not as finished, there was glass chop spikes all over....I cleaned it up myself, and it served be well for 10 years. But like the truck shopping I decided to do some cap shopping too. I am getting prices of around $2200 for an ARE, $1900 for a LEER, and closer to $1700 for a Jason. I have not yet seen a Jason in person. A friend of a friend is just opening a Trucks Unlimited in town, and is representing the Jason caps. I know some of you have suggested other brands you like, but these companies seem to be rather regional, and I can only get access to some through dealers here near VA. Does not seem to be enough price advantage to travel too far to get a little better price. So, has anyone bought a Jason Cap recently? Quality?

TIA,

They are decent caps. They strike me as basic, no-nonsense type caps. Like the Lakelands we see on this side of the lake.

BTW: many seem to be made in Elhart, IN area. Its a manufacturing hub for lots of RV type stuff.

Shipping is what will get you the most.

Thanks Dennis and others that have chimed in. I just placed an order for one.... fingers crossed! It was several hundred less than the ARE and LEER locally, and I am give the business to a friend of a friend who is starting a new business in town. Hope I don't regret it! Supposed to be a 2 week lead-time, so it should be here in plenty of time for proper set-up before the season starts.
