Good grief, it is the middle of duck season and I can't use Habi. I had brought her back from seeing the vet and they had her all bandaged up. By the way, she doesn't mind being in the house at all. In fact, she seems to love all the attention and just staying nice and warm.

This is what a mesquite thorn looks like. (a female Wilson's warbler behind the thorns) They are formidable if you have ever been punctured by one or worse yet had one break off in you. Anyway, Habi happened to step on one when I was taking Preston out to the ranch. It was amazing how quickly her foot began to swell. I had to pick her up and put her back in the truck.
