My Last day of 2012

Last Day of the year ended great. It started hunting with a childhood friend and his son in a little beaver pond where
Lincoln the "Want-2-B-Retriever" advanced up to a "Maybe-B-A-Retirever" by delievery to hand his first duck. Then he earned
his badge for search and recovery by hunting up a winged gaddie and working thru that shock factor a young pup experiences when
the cripple disappears before his eyes and then reappears 10ft away... he pushed thru that with passion and finally dove down to make
the grab... I feel he learned a whole lot on this short sweet memorable hunt...

Then the afternoon came and with it another trophy hunt for myself. My littlest girl Z (8) wanted to go deer hunting. She is a big animal lover and when asked if she shoot a deer... she didn't hesitate a second with her answer YES DADDY! We spent 4 hours in a shooting house together
telling fibbers and making funny faces... and to my surprise a doe showed up... A proud Z spotted it... and said Daddy get the gun theres a deer....
well i hadn't given the actual shooting a thought as to how it would happen... her reach on the rifle is just a shy short.. so her being able to scope the deer and pull the trigger was impossiable... and all this was being figured out in the shooting house..LOL.. with me surprised at her getting a little upset that this doe might walk...I winged a plan that i'd scope it and she pull the trigger... well the doe now...was heading back up and once i got what i thought was a good bead.. i called for the trigger... she pulled it... hard.. and i saw the shot smoke a rock and the doe bolt for the hills... a clear miss... we climbed down and searched the area with hope... finding nothing.....and to think the whole time...She thought we were hunting.
