Old Guys Are Cool...

Guys and Dani,
I live in Apex, NC. What was once a country town is now gentrified with expensive houses and subdivisions.

Occasionally, however, an old farmstead hangs on with an old fart still doing his thing.

I was driving down a local two lane road when I did a double take about a guy mowing his large lawn. Did I just see what I just saw?

I turned around. Stopped the truck. Yep. I did see what I just saw.

This old fart on a small John Deere tractor with a cutting deck was towing four, OLD 21" push mowers behind his John Deer. The push mowers were attached together to a frame that was attached to the hitch pin. If the tractor had a 4' cutting deck, this rig's total swath would have been over 10'.

Picture included below.

I don't call that redneck. I call that, COOL!!

Larry

I give that guy lotta credit.

He has better things to do than spend all damn day cutting grass. Most likely get done ASAP, and go Fishin'.

That, and so much more are regular sights up here.

Any, and all gasoline powered machines are used and modified for maximum use, and what many consider Habitat Destruction.

Even in the villages and small towns. Small lawn - Large butt sit, grass cutting machine.

The rarest of sights.

Push gasoline lawn mowers & man powered push lawn mowers. Now those draw attention.

Just think how much fun he had creating that. Good for him.

When I lived in Wisconsin, mowing my lawn then whacking grass all the way down to my pigeon loft. From there I mowed an additional foot pathway all the way to our creek which was a boundary line on the eastern side of our 40 acres. It was pure joy. Al
