Rowing Question

Never rowed before so I am lost on this. Got a little (key word little) boat. 40" wide by 10 foot long. Sides are 12 inches. Going to use like a layout mainly poling, but was thinking about oars for setting decoys. Not going to row well since it is flat on bottom, but will not go far anyway. Several questions:

1. Is this too narrow to row?
2. What length oars?
3. Where do you locate oarlocks relative to body? Even, back, forward and how much?
4. How much support do you need under oarlocks (partially decked with 1/8", would put on outer edge where it joins sides)?

Thanks

Dave

Dave, 1.Not to narrow
2.60" 20"inside boat 40" outside boat
3.about in the middle If you have a seat in the middle about six inches forward of the seat.
4. Put the oar locks as far out as you can and make them as strong as you can.
