My brother-in-law Chip, his two sons Bo 14 and Teddy 9, Chip's brother-in-law Michael and I got picked for the SC duck lottery to hunt one of the SC department of natural resources impoundments. Murphy Island is located between Georgetown SC and Charleston SC.
Michael and I shot together and Chip and the boys went in another blind. Michael got 3 shovlers and a drake pintail! I got 4 gadwall and a drake pintail!!!
Teddy shot a hen widgen and Bo got two shovlers and a ringneck. It is impossible to get a quality public hunt like this in our neck of the woods unless you have plenty of $$$$ and are in on some of the private impoundments that date back 200+ years from the glorious days of rice plantations.
