Sweet BBII in action

Got my first close look at the BBII in person. What a boat. Very hard to not want one of these after getting a close look.

The crew is justly proud of the captain and second in command.

Ports far afield call and so the harbor is put behind.

Once clear of the fairway bouy the second in command informs the helmsman of the course the captain has ordered.

All ahead, 3/4 speed, steady as she goes.

Best Duckboat pics of the season Bob... thanks for posting. I thought my pics with Morton were better --- but sadly, they have Morton featured ; )

That's some nice marsh in CT...

Bob ,

Nice pics , don't listen to Andrew , the only way his pictures will ever get noticed as an aclaimed photographer is if i am in them . Great time spent with the boys !!!!

That looks like Jamus Driscoll's Brant. Was that him or perhaps he sold his. Couldn't see the face of the guy driving to know.

That is Jamus and two of his little boys. The crew came out to Woodbridge Island Camp for some hunting and hotdogs. That is the Great Marsh in NE Mass specifically behind Plum Island in my backyard. Great boat. HHG

Thanks Hank. Jamus is a super fella. I wish he'd stop in and say hello and maybe pull up a chair for a while.

There is an expression used by folks from the outer banks of NC that this shot typifies.

When someone is really angry they will say that he/she is "iller than a hardcrab". Iller=madder.

Thanks for the pics,
Harry

Andrew,
you know it just would not be the same if Dave wasn't in your pictures.
Eric,
That sure was Jamus,
and his two boys were great. I think with four boys he is lucky to get out the door with a shotgun in a case let alone not having one pointed his direction urging him to "get on with the honey do list".
I cant say enough how much I liked this boat. I remember the original adds Sam ran in wooden boat way way back and to see one run was a confirmation of his ideas for a good hunting boat.
The most important feature is the canvas dodger. The kids hunted with dad all morning and hung out inside. No camo required and Jamus said he only needed a bag of hard candy to throw the combatants over his shoulder every few minutes. If the ducks only knew what was lurking below inside that hide they would fly back to PEI.
Could not have gotten the pictures if I wasn't offered the ride by Hank. We had such a good time and I got to put the weekend on an SD card for memory sake. I am in a stage right now where the kids are the whole deal, and so a weekend like this means a lot.

Shoulda guessed that that magnificent marsh was in Garvey-land. Or in New Jersey, which may be surprising to some, has some of the finest marsh hunting around. And abundant too.

I grew up in Marshfield Mass, which has a similar marsh system. Wish I lived on one.

Hey guys! What a bunch of great pics Bob. I've saved them down to the hard drive and will be making a print or two for myself. That was a great morning and the kids are still talking about it. Nice to have a keepsake

Eric! how the hell are you?!? been thinking I owed you and the forum a drive by to say hello. As Bob mentioned we just had our fourth child, a boy named Ben, two weeks ago so things have been a bit nuts. Ben joins my eldest Gabe and and second son Ethan (pictured) as well as Grayson who's about to turn two. There was a time when I was thinking about selling the boat but hank talked me out of it and boy am I glad he did. The two boys sit behind me under the canvas in their snow suits where they are warm, have snacks, a shelf, can move around and poke me in the back of the head. Occasionally, I get to shoot a duck. it's a great deal all the way around.

How's life with you?

Jamus

Four kids, wow. Three keeps us completely occupied. I can't imagine a fourth. Things are good here. Trying to get out and do a little hunting but not much luck so far. Our season opened on Thanksgiving and runs until Jan. 25 so there is still time.

Hope you find some time and can post now and then. Good seeing your name on the board.

Eric

Great pics Bob,

But your oysters were better! It was nice to meet you and your son John. Hands down, my favorite hunt of the year is the annual kids hunt the day after Thanksgiving. Some day hopefully my daughter will join the crowd.

We don't get many ducks with plastic m-16s and whistles for calls, but we sure eat well and have alot of fun!

Cheers,

John

Those pictures did it. The BBII will be my first attempt at boat building. (Unless it will be a Broadbill,or Poleboat).

Bill, that is the biggest woodtick I have ever seen!
