Yes friends the Traveling Decoy Auction is upon us again and this year is no exception to the quality we've become accustomed to. "The Robber" is a high quality hand carved hollow cedar American Widgeon by Ira McCauley. After a season of hunting from coast to coast it shows a little character through a few spots of wear to paint, a couple of small flakes of loose paint (less than 1/8”x1/4”) on top of its head, and there are a couple of dings to the wood. Typical wear you would expect from a season of gunning. The bottom and keel has been signed by many duckboats.net hosts and members.
Also included in the auction is the log book that accompanied the decoy on its journey. It contains hand scribed accounts of "The Robber’s" journey, from coast to coast, Canada, and to the deep south.
Additionally, there is a very nice picture book. And when I say nice I mean NICE. This is a professional hard bound, full color, photographic journey of ‘The Robber’s’ hunts. It contains thirty five pages and over eighty pictures. Exceptional quality.
Funds raised from this auction provide duckboats.net the means to stay on the web and commercial free. The management of this site wishes to express their appreciation to those involved with this worthwhile project.
Bidding starts at of $50 and there is a minimum increment of $10. Bidding ends at the stroke of midnight, eastern, daylight savings time, as Thursday July 30 turns to Friday.
