neat some help looking at a boat, sevral old small outboards, and some decoys....and there could be some "other" treasures that pop up as well......

Steve

well i have a cousin back in Lansing, but she'd probably not be able to help you, and she's about an hour (straight line) from there. Sorry

My college room mate is a state cop based in Bay City. Crazy huh....

Actually, there are quite a few guys on the "fuge" that live up that way.

This wouldn't be about a lady who's father just got put in assisted living and had built a sneak boat back in the 70's that they are trying to find a value on, would it? If so I led her to this site in hopes that she might be able to find the true value before simply selling it for virtually nothing. Very nice lady who happened to stumble across my website and was looking for some input.

Steve,

I'm about a half hour away and will be there next Tuesday for a field trip my kids will be on. I could check things out on my way home.

sounds like we definately have some people close that might be able to help this person out...(Brad--correct on this being the same person that you recommended to check in here)....

Here's the deal...I was contacted by a very nice lady who was looking for someone to help her sell her fathers duck hunting equipment....her Dad is now confined to a care facility and will not be able to duck hunt in the future. The Daughter is the principal care giver in the family and moving her fathers equipment will help support her Father. In addition its obvious from he e-mails to me she appreciates the pleasure that duck hunting provided her Father and would like to see the equipment go to people that would appreciate it..

Her Dad had a WIGEON that he built himself which is on a trailer. Base don the single picture that I saw I can't determine condition but I can se that the boat was built to be able to sail, (she confirmed this with her Father but there is no sail rig included). In addition to the boat he had several older, small hp outboards that are all in running condition. And there are some decoys.

What I'd like to do is to see if someone who is knowledgeable that could look at the boat to gauge condition, look at the decoys to see what she has, check out the motors, etc. to see if we could help this person in moving the items at a fair price..Heck we might find that there's a home for some of it here on the site...I know there has been good interest in the smaller outboards in the past.....

So of the people that responded.....who's up for a visit to check things out and provide some assistance? DON'T FORGET NOW, any decoys that might be stumbled upon made by any carver that has appeared in any book, I GET FIRST DIBS......

Seriously let me know if you'd be interested in helping...you can respond here or to my e-mail address.... nuvan@comcast.net

Thanks in advance for helping out a waterfowler who has been forced to give it up before he was ready to....

Appreciate the help....

Greetings Everyone. The Bay City girl is here. Just wanted to let you all know that Tom Hardy came by and has seen the boat, taken his own pic's and measurements.. Very nice man! Thank you for coming Tom, it was a pleasure to meet you! Thanks to Steve Sutton for all of your assistance in getting the word out. Wow. What a great bunch of people! And a special thank-you to Brady Taylor from North Carolina who has been more helpful than any one could even ask.

The boat: Sneakbox-Widgeon 12' Hand Built in the 70's. Used 12' marine ply. Gougeon Brothers Epoxy, and if it said use one coat he did 2!
The boat is made to sail, has no rig, and has no sail.
The inside of that boat is beautiful! I have many pictures and even without cleaning it, it's a beauty!
The exterior of the hull cover needs to be refinished ( I would ) , and a little TLC, and maybee a new camo paint job.
I am going to leave that to the lucky person who buys this sneakbox.
Boat is located in Bay City, Michigan. There is a galvanized trailer it's sitting on, needs new tires, can go with boat.

There are also 3 outboard motors: an Evinrude DuckTwin , Johnson Seahorse, and McCullogh. (The outboards at last use all in running condition.)

If anyone is seriously interested and has a serious offer or inquiry on any of these items I will consider all offers and respond.

I hope it's ok to put my email up, this is for inquiries and offers, I will send pic's upon request. Subject line:Sneakbox
Email Linda @ lalalinda63@hotmai.com .

Thanks to all of you! I really appreciate your assistance. Great bunch of guys!
Sincerely,
Linda Bay City Girl w/Sneakbox&Trailer&Outboards..
