Youth Shoot Update 2

Well, we got the reloads done in 3\4 oz #9s at 1100 fps and headed out to the range. Had a good talk about safety and handling inc. muzzel direction. Then headed for the patterning plate. Took two shots from 16 yds and John was very happy to be in the yellow. He thought the gun was heavy and we stopped at two. I took a third to see where the comb was and it hits the center well. Hope to get out on Wed. night to blast some fun stuff like balloon's or water jugs.
No sign of bruising or soreness next day-good. Gonna have to practice gun mount a lot-fine. Need to thin up the grip area of the stock to allow shorter fingers to reach the hammer-Adult only cocking for now. Modified choke is sweet for early duck or lat phesant. Will be getting some spreader inserts from Polly Wad to open up the loads for skeet and upland stuff.
Into the gun for less than $125 and I think we will be able to make it work. Reloads are key along with modifications to stock. I think we will be outgrowing this length fast so may hunt down a new stock to trim up.
