Coastal Bluebills... a few photos

These are hollow cedar and oils. Rigged with a traditional pad weight and a leather loop. The eyes are raw brass, which will mellow over time with the paint. They may be hunting in Paducah at this moment.

I hope you enjoy them...

Geoff
are you sand blasting to get the grain to show thru like that on the bodies. I always liked the look and it makes the bird in my eyes.
Those two are a sweet pair.
I looked at your site. Do you have a drake red breasted merg that went along with the hen? I like the look and want to give a few a try.

Those look great! I like the paint schemes on both.

How do you find the stability of those traditional style, round bottom decoys?

Thanks for the comments guys...

Bob - Grain was raised with a little water once sanded. It is a good look and saves on that final sanding. There are some tool marks in there as well. I don't have a drake Merganser that matches the hen on the website, sorry. No one has ordered one yet (hint, hint).

John - Yes, those round bottom decoys can be a little rolly polly out on the big water. I have learned over the years to flatten the shape though. Also hollow real light and then weight down with the pad. Makes them more stable..
