I flew up last Wednesday for my first trip of the year. House was OK, truck had a flat, didn't even try my boat. Weather was cool but crystal clear and dry. There were ducks in every crop field mudhole and ditch along the road. Friday afternoon I took a ride up to see John VanHouten and do a little fishing. We drove to Devil's Lake and fished off a close to submerged road. In a short time John had two real nice Northerns and I broke off two. I guess monofilament line is not the fishing line for these toothy critters. After a nice dinner with John and his wife Mindy I had a leisurely ride back to my place near Harvey, A few miles north of Harvey along rt. 3, I spotted these birds. I thought this shot kind of summed up my whole trip. Rich

Given that its a park duck drake, he was probably hitting on the female goose!!
