Headed up to my property in the Catskill Mountains of New York this past weekend, After our very first successful season in October, we wanted to put in place some wood-duck boxes on the pond. After doing much research on the best structures that would require low maintenance and ease, along with me not having any time to build my own every 3-4 years lol I decided to take a look at the DuckHut's. https://duckhut.co/ I'm in no way sponsored by the company but, I wanted to share a few thoughts on them after hearing some good feedback from others. I ordered the (4) pack on the website and it was super easy to setup & install. It's a small family run company by the looks of it the design hasn't changed much in years but seems to do the job! For the posts i gathered 4 10' Galvinized posts and sprayed them with Zinc Chomite Primer then ran another finish coat of Rustoleum Primer over that coat. This would provide more protection and give it a more appealing "tree" look.. The posts were then pounded in about 2' deep, the predator guards are coming in another shipment this week and will be installed!

Hopefully we have some new visitors coming soon.... I plan to install some smaller trail cameras that just came out tucked up inside facing down for live feedback.
We'll see!.. Only 6 months to go & counting

Hopefully you won,t have issues with box's getting to hot inside. Several years ago some plastic bxs were installed in area I hunt but they are prone to getting to hot inside and smothering newly hatched chicks. Problem arises of course on latter nesters and not an issue on the early birds.

good to know..we’ll see thanks Roy

That looks like a sweet little spot and the blind will definitely keep you guys comfortable on cold wet days. Let us know how the woodies take to those boxes. We've put up boxes but they rarely last more than three or four years. Those would make great replacements.

That was my concern....the heat. I will be interested in hearing how these work out...good luck Anthony!

Hope those boxes work out. They have been around and in ours since end of duck season. First picture was week after season. Second one is this morning. Two drakes waiting on hens to leave boxes.

That looks like a gorgeous place for Woody ducklings! I manage 40 or so boxes down here in SC. I took over and rehabbed many 25-30 year old cypress boxes that are still cranking out ducklings. Fun winter-summer project and due to early and late nesters I get 2-3 broods out if I clean nest boxes out after jump day.
