Hello All, Some pic's of my Tom's Aero-Marine Barnegat Sneakbox that I restored back in 2020 and due to some surgeries I just got around to completing some projects with the help of this forums posts ideas Thanks.
The push pole 10' x 1-5/16'' Lowes closet rod with Herter's duckbill. I seal all the wood with my own mix of 60% val-oil, 35% turpentine, 5% penetrol. I use this mix when I'm making wood fishing lures. Paint is Duralux duck boat drab. Finished at the end with a turk's head knot..
The paddle Handle 6' x 1-1/4'' Lowes poplar wood rod. The blade is from a octagon aluminum push pole that was lost. I put a octagon tapper plain into the wood rod. The blade I slotted for retrieving decoys.
7' Sitka spruce oars from FB market place. Gave them fresh paint and reconditioned the leather. They were a nice find for $25 that are back up incase the motor quits.
Cypress grassing boards for concealment
Anchor chock a Steve Sanford design. I made it so it can be removable it slides under the deck.
Multi use pole 1'' x 42'' dowel another Steve Sanford design with grabber end 1/4'' x 1-1/2''x 3-1/2'' and turks knot. I use it for grabbing lines and reaching the motor shift lever that's very convenient. This was my first attempt at a turk's head and after tying three I got it down thanks to Steve for sharing on how to tie the turks and his multi use tractor supply bucket.
Electrical box, battery mount, and lights under the bow and gunnel to keep dry. Skills I acquired back in my aircraft welding days. The photos were taken before I installed the anchor choke and fuel tank under the bow. Removable compass that clips to the dodger with cover out of a old neoprene wader.
Aluminum engine cover and bending jig for thatch rails
Here she is grassed out with natural and Joseph Stern raffia grass. I tried the J Stern for the first time. I am still recovering from neck surgery and back injections that prohibited me from cutting grass I tried and it didn't work out well so the J stern was a good alterative. I like the product, it was easy to work with. I opened the bundle of grass and zipped tied 6'' from the end that kept it nice and neat. It took four bundles at 2.2lbs ea. The Momarsh recliner seat a early Christmas present from my wife. The seat has four settings that's nice for someone with a bad back plus it can be moved up to accommodate the dog.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Hal
