Headed up to my property in the Catskill Mountains of New York this past weekend, After our very first successful season in October, we wanted to put in place some wood-duck boxes on the pond. After doing much research on the best structures that would require low maintenance and ease, along with me not having any time to build my own every 3-4 years lol I decided to take a look at the DuckHut's. https://duckhut.co/ I'm in no way sponsored by the company but, I wanted to share a few thoughts on them after hearing some good feedback from others. I ordered the (4) pack on the website and it was super easy to setup & install. It's a small family run company by the looks of it the design hasn't changed much in years but seems to do the job! For the posts i gathered 4 10' Galvinized posts and sprayed them with Zinc Chomite Primer then ran another finish coat of Rustoleum Primer over that coat. This would provide more protection and give it a more appealing "tree" look.. The posts were then pounded in about 2' deep, the predator guards are coming in another shipment this week and will be installed!
Hopefully we have some new visitors coming soon.... I plan to install some smaller trail cameras that just came out tucked up inside facing down for live feedback.
We'll see!.. Only 6 months to go & counting
