NDR Sprayer leak

I need some help from the brain trust! My pull behind lawn sprayer has developed a crack by one of the bolt bosses that holds it to the trailer. Has anyone had experience with a product that will adhere to the inside of the polly tank that will seal it up and help strengthen the boss without separating from the liquid. Wondering about something like 3M 5200?

Thanks George

I would think plastic welding would be the way to fix. Maybe sections from an old white 5 gallon bucket for extra material if needed. Short of that JB Weld makes some 2 part epoxies that will hold up well to submersion. My main concern is where cracks located is a high stress area and without some kind of cushioning or reinforcement same would happen again.

It's tough to gauge the size of the fitting, and extent of the cracks. There's more than one crack, and I bet they'll continue to extend outward even if repaired. As noted above, it may be difficult to obtain a good weld or bond if adhesives are used. An alternative if all else fails and the cracked area isn't more than about six inches across, is to saw the entire cracked area out, install a solid plug and tap the plug for the required fitting. I couldn't tell you what the name of the plug assembly is but I used one once to tap an old olive oil barrel.

Thanks Guys,
SJ, the main crack is about a half inch long, the threads are 5/16-18. I was hoping for a slop some goop on it quick fix, I'll look into the plastic welding. If that doesn't work I'll probably need to find a new tank. The thing only gets used a couple times a year.

I've used this product with good results,

Loctite 1360788 Epoxy Plastic Bonder

I would suggest using acetone to clean and etch the surface of the tank before application.
