What’s on your workbench? August

Got to play a little. Put my silicone body mold to the test and it worked well. Made a few skimmers but popped my acrylic sheet that already had a crack in it. Finally pressure from the foam split it. I’ll get another and I’m sure I’ll get lots of use out of it before I crack another.

Also got the snow full bodies to balance right on the stake. So I’ll be moving forward with restle coating this weekend since I got all the seams apoxie sculpted. Life has been busy, so it’s always nice when I can disappear in the shop for 4-6 hours and just play. Finished up a high head snow goose mold. Going to try and sneak in 4 more casts so I can make the first dozen snow decoys and 4 uprights to 8 feeders. When I really get going, I’ll likely do 2 uprights to every 10 feeders. I want a natural relaxed looking spread. Doubt I’ll even make a juvie decoy.

Finishing up the hen teal I started . Been a busy month.
Really enjoying my venture with hand tools vs the power carver.. admittedly though about 10% of work has been with the foredom

Rest have been with my new spoke shave @patrick mccarthy
And my knife trying to cut down on dust

Got to finish working the breast and rump tomorrow before it’s hollowed and then epoxied.
Trying to get finish weight 10 oz
