First hunt

Rose's first hunt (12yo). She managed to pick one off at about 55 yards with bismuth 4s. Used her brand new SX4 compact, never fired it before. I heard her ask "is this going to hurt?" And then I see the goose flop. When I asked her later, she said she didn't even notice she fired.

Slow for the first day, but not complaining with family cookout in the afternoon. Don't have a freezer truck as temporary storage if we got too many.

Charlotte (not in camo for the photo) definitely has the bug. Was upset she couldn't shoot. She'll turn legal hunting age in January of 26. Just in time for the best part of the season.

They both said on the way home "hunting isn't cheap, but the memories stay in your brain for free".

Memories for a lifetime!!!

I was 9 yrs old when I shot my first duck. Michigan "law" required youth to be 12 years old to legally hunt, my dad was born in 1918, he was old school. I had shot enough red squirrels at my aunts farm that he knew I was ready. Age is just a number anyway right? :)

I love posts like these! I look forward to taking my grandkids hunting!

This is awesome! Yay for both girls!!!!

I look forward to Charlotte's first hunt write up......
