Hurricane Francine Teal / Blackbellies

Lots of my Cajun brothers are in the midst of this storm. So far all is well for most of them. What is amazing is the teal movement during storms like this! One buddy in SWLA watched flock after flock of teal flying in from the South for 2 hours this afternoon! Another fella sent him this video of his rice ponds. It's really cool to see. They have 1000's and 1000's of teal all over them, of course they're hoping they stick around until this Saturday the opener! Teal are gonna teal though!

Praying for all in the path of this storm. Flooding, tornadoes, power outages, storm surge, it sucks but so far so good.

Check it out.

I just got in from the hunting property. Took a half day from work and bush hogged landing areas in front of the blinds (no grain cut) and then dropped in enough boards to flood the lower areas. We are supposed to get 5" of rain. Last year we didn't have water until the last 10 days of the season and do not want to miss this rain and end up in the same situation. I don't want any hurricane damage for anyone, but I do want some water on the ponds.

You guys get early season birds moved by hurricanes. We get late season birds moved by northeasters. Most of my best hunts here have been being out just ahead of incoming NE storms. What's perfect is to still be out as the snow is starting but before it makes boating and driving stupid.

Glad to hear everyone made it thru okay Paul. And I am jealous of all the teal!!!!

I have gotten about 5" of much needed rain since Francine blew through there. Hopefully the teal show up here like there. I haven't had a really good teal hunt in years.
