Locking Gun Rack

Hi All and Merry Christmas,
Can anyone recommend a wall mounted, locking, gun rack? I have a safe but I want something that I can bolt to the wall and have our duck guns locked in place in my boat house rather than bring everything into the main house daily. I've got a 12 and a 14 year old and they are great with gun safety. But I'm not going to be "that guy" with an accident. I'm crawling all over Google now but figured I'd drop this here too.
Thanks,
Mc

I have a Tufloc in my office for a personal protection shotgun. It was to keep kids from getting at it. I am sure a thief could figure out how to cut off or steal it, but it would take some work and tools to remove it.

The website is blocked on my work computer, so I can't give you a link, but Google "Santa Cruz gun locks". These are what most Law Enforcement agencies have in their vehicles, and I believe they make a wall mounted unit.

I looked at the Santa Cruze Gunlock and I saw they have a Gunlock Safety Precautions listed in the website. I see they are temporary and not to used for permanent storage and firearm should not be left unsupervised while usin it. (See Below). I also looked at the TufLoc website and I could not find any such precautions on their website. But the TufLoc are similar to the Santa Cruz. I wonder if TufLoc should have the same precautions? From the TufLoc site it looks as if they see this as a permanent secure storage. I am not sure what to think about these at this style of gun lock at this point.

Hello. I'm not sure I understand your stance/concern on this style of lock. The OP is wanting an easily accessible, wall-mount device to store a gun, that is more convenient/easier access than in his safe.

No gun wall-mount company can say their mount, which leaves a gun exposed to people being able to put hands on it, will prevent someone from putting a shell in the gun and making it fire. They also can't guarantee your gun can't be stolen out of the locking mount. The mount would have to be purpose built for a specific model of gun that restricted the action from opening, the trigger from pulling, the safety from coming off, etc. FWIW, neither can a gun safe manufacturer. I work in an industry that uses safes on a daily basis to store much more sensitive items than a gun, and I can tell you that even safes are only a deterrent for so long. If someone had an entire weekend to crack into one, they could. Safes, just like locks, only keep honest people honest.

Sorry for the length... I guess I'm trying to say, I believe that website's wording is just legal-speak for "don't hold us responsible if you leave your items unattended for days or weeks and come back to a missing or fired gun". It's a "Cover your ass" statement by them that is meant to put the responsibility of the firearms safe-keeping in the owners hands, not theirs. (y).

I am basically stating the same thing. But it was my first time looking at those style racks from both companies. I am just pointing out to the OP that they still should be supervised just in case he thinks that it is perfectly safe around kids. Especially since he mentions "But I'm not going to be "that guy" with an accident." But I was also pointing out the fact the Santa Cruz list the precautions and TufLoc does not and thinking they probably should so people don't get the wrong idea. And I was not sure what to think about this style of gun lock if the OP was looking for something that was safe. Maybe my message came out a little confusing and I should have better explained my point.

I think you are seeing some legalese from one of them and not the other. The last sentence is the most important, which is why it is placed there.

I think a cheap locker style safe would serve you well. In addition, it would keep what is there hidden.
