Best Day of this year's season

Very cool Shawn- I would bet you could have some amazing opportunities down there next Sept. during the youth weekend ODFW provides. Just a thought...

    A waterfowling tradition...

Nice post Jon. I am fairly new to hunting the Lower Columbia, and despite varied success, it is mainly the storied history and tradition that continues to pique my interest. I caught myself a few times heading downriver when I could almost gaurantee I would do better in more well known...

    A season review...

Like many have said, what a treat you have provided. Thanks for sharing. I do a bit of sea duck hunting in OR and WA, but I am drooling over the eiders.

    Columbia River Black Jack!

Well best of luck to you. I'm heading down on Sat. to end my season as well. I've done a little scaup hunting down there in the past but I think I finally want to have a Greater on the wall. Amazing birds and a very tradition rich place to hunt them.

    Columbia River Black Jack!

Looks like a great hunt. I'm impressed you did so well with only a dozen dekes. I think it is always a good plan to have a bag of diver decoys in the truck when heading down to the Lower Columbia after thanksgiving. Congrats.

50 or 60 hp on a 17' sea class TDB

I recently purchased a 17' sea class TDB to use mainly on the Columbia and larger bays or OR and WA. My 14' barnegat just wasn't cut out for the rough days and long hauls. The new boat does not have a motor and I was hoping to get some opinions on a 50 or 60 hp 4 stroke. The boat is rated for...
