    Boston Whaler Duckboat

Save save Joe. I did a similar job 12 years ago with a 12ft Glastron. It was a real trooper, handled like fancy Japanese motor scooter and very useful on icy days. That one you got will kill some ducks.

    Boat build recommendations

I know you said you wanted to do a build -hey, that's why we are on a boat build site. But, sub 100lb is hard to do in a glass and wood boat. I did a Glen-L duck boat and duck boat 2. Those were nice but bearable for manhandling they were not. You might be more satisfied with one of these Four...

    DN Goodchild Mallard Build

Here is a first post on this build to fill yall in on the past 9 months. Last summer my grandfather decided he was too old and parted out his wood shop between me, my cousin and brother in law. So that got me to thinking that it was time for me to put all those saws and tools to work to replace...

    NDR Ammo Ban

Tom, You are prescient about defining the debate. We all know this is a Trojan Horse to banning rifles. I happen to know some of the details about what types of ammunition penetrate differing levels of hard body armor, rolled homogenous steel, etc. Kevlar only gear is really intended for spall...

    NDR Ammo Ban

Part of my military responsibilities includes several small arms and artillery ranges. Building and running them. I know a lot about the ballistic capabilities of ammunition. If M855, which is a very conventional lead core copper jacketed bullet were "armor piercing" then why did the military...

What to Do with a Long Shank 25hp

After 8 years of nursing my 1970 Glastron fish and ski V146 through duck and crappie season, I have decided that we are going to part ways. I have found that it just doesn't fit the kind of waters we have here with its nearly 20 inches of draft. Plus, the hull has lived it full life. Not bad for...

    Anyone with a 1754 and a 20 hp motor?

Kevin, We have run a 25 on 16 ft and 14ft boats for years. The 77 mercury 25 pushed three of us and decoys through Reelfoot and every river in TN except the big one. The old glastron 14 footer I have one on now will go far faster than is sensible with just two large people. Look at the data...

    Hearing Protection

I recommend two options. If you are willing to spend, buy some peltor earmuffs. The ones with the cupped low profile and will allow you to hear conversations and quacks until something goes boom. If you want cheaper use combat arms ear plugs or similar flanged and perforated plug such as the...

    Devlin bluebill build thread.

Did this motor not have a way to bolt it to the transom and prop it up for trailering with a transom saver?

    Glen-L Duck Boat Too

Any Duck Boat Too owners out there that can validate the weight of the square stern version. Glen-L website says 98 lbs. Planning for four 20 lb sheets of plywood plus fiberglass, it sounds close but on the low side. The boat specs page lists it at about 200 lbs. What's the ground truth?
