So I did a thing ….. not sure if I’ll like it lol

It was an older 35hp model. 2012 or thereabouts. He and his best friend pooled their money and bought it when they broke college students. It got them many places and home again. The wiring had been butchered before they got it and failed a few times in the field. We stripped all of it out...

So I did a thing ….. not sure if I’ll like it lol

William My son bought a Mudbuddy when he was in college. It was used and abused. He ran it about 30 seconds at my shop and I knew we were in for a major repair. The seals were shot letting water/grit to the bearings and they were sloppy and noisy. We had to do a total breakdown of the...

    New Decorations

Completely agree. I'm not sure how @Don Mintz ended up here or why he decided to become a significant contributor, but I am darn glad to have him on the forum and am constantly impressed at the quality of work he does.

How do I get the bow down?

Blake Hard to know without being there but I suspect you don't have enough power to plane off and are stuck in that state where she is about to plane over. More power may be your only solution.

Dave Very good. Where did you first come across the design? I can find three makers now, Cajun Duck Supply, Rolling Thunder, and Rogers. Not sure who devised it, could be decades old, but it just now seems to be catching on.

Decoy Rack Front vs. Rear Question for The Barnegat Bay Sneakbox Builders/Owners

They were cool boats. Probably won't ever see a true BBSB there again. Good to see you are still around.

I can't take credit for the string trimmer line idea because I saw others do it. I will admit the best duck tote I've ever owned was made by @Brad F and sent to me as a gift. I have kept up with it for many years because it works so well, despite my son and his friends eyeing it. Like yours...

William It is ordinary .095 string trimmer line. Yes, the line slides through split crimp and tightens around the ducks ankle or neck. I just made them and can't say from experience, but I have no doubt it will hold securely based on the finger test and other things I cinched the loop down on...

Just completed the first batch. These will go in the duck blinds we've built and help each hunter keep up with their ducks. Following a hunt the ducks can stay on them until cleaned. We will take them to the blind on the next hunt where they will stay unless totin' ducks home. I am putting a...

    Possible Resources Misunderstanding?

Dave I think you are right. I went back and looked at a bunch more of the entries and sorted them by date. The older they are the disparity between views and downloads closes. I suspect when the notification post goes up folks click out of curiosity, just like you said, and don't go further...

    Possible Resources Misunderstanding?

David That is something I'll keep in mind. As the site grows in content and we use vendor software that isn't easily/cheaply modified, I only have so much ability to keep navigation clicks small. I know exactly what you are saying, but developers evidently have a different philosophy. Thank...

We are knocking out a batch of duck totes. I'm working on a video of how we make them and should have it done in a few days. Fun little project.

Has anyone steam bent wood on this forum?

That will work too, and quite well I might add. My understanding of moisture introduced during steaming is that it is intercellular, and not intracellular, thus dries much faster than green wood. This is your area of expertise so if I have it wrong then tell me.

    Possible Resources Misunderstanding?

I recently had someone contact me looking for a resource. They were able to find it after I pointed out the orange "Download" button in the top right of the page. When I look at recent resource items I see WAY more page visits than downloads, like the below example with 27 visits and only one...
