Who is going to be the first?

While we are fortunate to have a marina on our chain of lakes, most lakes in MN and WI are on smaller waters with no marina. The grid structure isn't so great either. If this State, and many others, force folks to purchase EV cars by a certain year (MN is pushing it in a few years time)...

Who is going to be the first?

Faster charging. Normal 110V might take a long time. The way our boat is used, one battery pack wouldn't last the morning and then it would need to be recharged. Just guessing here but charging an EV with 110 takes forever and a day. Mark

    River running in small boats....

i have found trying to push pole up a river/stream is next to impossible. Depending on the speed of the current, it is one push up nd 7/8's going backward to reset your pole. Then, if you push crooked, the boat turns sideways and now you have other issues to deal with. I don't know how small...

    Duckboat.net Family Feud game

Quite the list we've put together. I've done all of them more than once. Here were my mistakes. 1. Little to no gas. I remember coming in after the last hunt last season and saying I have to get some gas but will wait till next season as the boat isn't use in the summer. Got to the landing...

    River running in small boats....

You probably already know this but if you don't get up on plane, you will be limited to the hull speed of the boat you have. Typically less than 7mph if I recall. There is a calculation on the web somewhere I am sure. I use my old Hoefgen Duck Boat and a homebuilt longtail motor on mine to...

    Duckboat.net Family Feud game

Took out the big duckboat yesterday to go check out the place I frequently hunt. Name me the top 5 things boat owners forget to do, forget to check, or forget to bring along on that first outing of the season? I successfully did all 5 in one outing. I'm so proud of myself. Mark

Who is going to be the first?

I just cant se these being widely adapted for one reason other than what has been mentioned above. Many boat owners (larger boats like or 20' speedboat are kept on a lift down in the water. I can't imagine what it would cost to get the high powered electrical cable dow to the boat and then I...

Who is going to be the first?

I'd be worried about range in the great white north. Drive out, set up, hunt for a few hours, drive back. I know cold kills the range on EV cars and trucks. Would suck to run out of electrons in the cold.

Who is going to be the first?

A couple cans of rattle paint and I think I see a future for this becoming a duck boat. I'm so far behind on having things ready for next weekend I'm embarrassed. Should be able to pull it off but time is getting. It's not like I have t k own about this for a year or so...

    Anti hunters win in Australia

I keep saying every chance I get - Voting has consequences. Severe consequences in some instances. I'll provide a couple of examples in regards to the latest in MN. If it offends anyone, too bad. The Republican candidates took strong stances on abortion. No abortion for any reason at all...

    What would you do?

Going to happen somewhere this season. Have had it happen to me more than once. How would you all handle this? https://fb.watch/mJsXlN-L5_/?mibextid=MnnKW6 Mark

New MN gun control law takes affect today. Question

I frequently have more guns in the boat than people hunting. Always carry a spare. And yeah, I'm not going to worry about as my MN hunting is a few days a year and Wisconsin hunting is significantly more. and if I lent my gun to a neighbor and he shoots someone how are they going to prove it...

New MN gun control law takes affect today. Question

I believe this was a version of another proposed law introduced in the legislature but this is not the law that was passed. I believe the law that was actually passed is SF2909. I found the law but it is an omnibus bill of several hundred pages long. And being as how the government doesn't...

New MN gun control law takes affect today. Question

Thanks for the info on the gun law. I did have time and did look into it. The law provided above must be an older version. The actual information I have come across says I can loan a gun to a hunting partner for 12 hours, not 30 days. Doesn't really matter though. If a CO came up to me and...

New MN gun control law takes affect today. Question

Today marks the beginning of the new gun control laws in MN. One of them I don't understand how it is going to be enforced and maybe someone has an answer. It is now illegal for me to loan, for whatever purpose and for whatever length of time without filling out 4 pieces of documentation and...

    How would I do this?

I have a kayak cart that has worked fairly well over the years. With the changing landscape of where I hunt, I plan to haul either of my kayaks quite a bit more this season. The areas where I'll be dragging the kayak are not even ground which makes my current carrier tippy. The one I have is...

    How things have changed

Went out yesterday morning to check on my favorite hunting spot. It is a decent producer but more importantly it is relatively easy to get to and not many people know about it. This spot used to hole several hunting groups where most of the time one was abutting next to someone else. There...

    Two-Tier Bag Limits Coming?

For the ethical hunter, maybe a good thing. For the unethical hunter, they will choose the 6 bird limit an still shoot everything that comes in range and will stash the birds that don't fit what is allowed in the bag. For me, keep the 6 bird limit just because of where I hunt and what I see...

    4 Rivers Layout boat. (SOLD)

Boat is older (don't have an exact date but can get it). It is in excellent condition as it was used very little. Boat current resides in Millbank South Dakota but could be transported to the Twin Cities fairly easily. Boat is not mine but my brother in laws who takes care of everything. He...
